Thank you for choosing AlgoEdge — your trusted platform for professional MT5 algorithmic trading bots. This guide will walk you through everything you need to get started and make the most of your automated trading experience.
Step 1: Create Your MT5 Account
Before activating your AlgoEdge bot, you'll need a MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading account with a supported broker. We recommend brokers with low spreads and fast execution speeds for optimal bot performance. Download MT5 from your broker's website and complete the account registration process.
Step 2: Purchase Your Bot
Browse our Products page and select the trading bot that matches your strategy and risk profile. Each bot listing includes detailed performance statistics, supported currency pairs, and recommended account settings. Add your chosen bot to the cart and complete your purchase.
Step 3: Download & Install the Bot
After purchase, you will receive a download link for your bot's Expert Advisor (EA) file (.ex5 format). Follow these steps to install it:
- Open MetaTrader 5 and go to File > Open Data Folder.
- Navigate to MQL5 > Experts and paste the .ex5 file into this folder.
- Restart MT5 or press F5 to refresh the Navigator panel.
- Your bot will now appear under Expert Advisors in the Navigator.
Step 4: Configure Bot Settings
Drag the bot onto your desired chart and configure the input parameters. Key settings include:
- Lot Size / Risk % — Set your position size or risk percentage per trade.
- TP & SL Levels — Define Take Profit and Stop Loss values (pre-optimised defaults are provided).
- Trading Sessions — Enable or disable specific market sessions (London, New York, Asian).
- Magic Number — A unique identifier for the bot's trades; keep this at its default unless running multiple bots.
Step 5: Enable Auto Trading
Ensure AutoTrading is enabled in MT5 by clicking the AutoTrading button in the toolbar (it should turn green). Also make sure "Allow automated trading" is checked in the bot's settings dialog. Your bot is now live and ready to execute trades automatically.
Step 6: Monitor & Optimise
While AlgoEdge bots are designed to run autonomously, we recommend checking in regularly. Use the MT5 Journal and Trade tabs to monitor activity. For best results, run your bot on a VPS (Virtual Private Server) to ensure 24/5 uptime without relying on your local machine.
